| Launch of WWW Campaign - Nigeria, March 2007 |
|
In Nigeria, the campaign was launched by Honorable Minister, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, and Mrs. Inna Maryam Ciroma. She noted that "VAW remains one of the most intransigent forms of human rights violations because of its complex and varied forms, such as physical violence, sexual violence, domestic and recently trafficking as a modern form of violations of the human rights of women and children. It is a form of discrimination that prevents women's full participation in society, as well as fulfilling their potentials as human beings, as it devastates lives and stalls community". The campaign coalition reached out to people from different works of life with the messages on "Say No to Violence" "Stop Discrimination against Women Living with HIV and Eliminate all Forms of Violence against Women and Girls" as pictured below. The campaign is being integrated within the Promoting Reproductive Sexual Rights (PRSSH) programme at the community level intervention within the Female out of School (FOSY) led community based organizations. |
